Targeted Case Management

Our Target Case Managers are professionals who are responsible for coordinating and managing the necessary services for people with mental disorders. They help these people achieve the best possible quality of life within their community. This includes coordinating medical care, social support, and other resources necessary for the patient's recovery and well-being.

What is the difference between a Target Case Manager and a Therapist?

The main difference between a Target Case Manager and a therapist lies in their roles and responsibilities within mental health care.

A Target Case Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the different services and resources needed by the patient, such as medical care, social support, housing, and employment; he or she also works to ensure that all of the patient's needs are met, not just those related to mental health; and finally acts as a liaison between the patient and the different community services, facilitating access to these resources.

In contrast, a therapist provides direct treatment through therapies such as cognitive-behavioral, talk therapy, and other therapeutic techniques; conducts assessments to diagnose mental disorders and develop personalized treatment plans; and helps patients manage their emotions, develop coping skills, and work on their personal and emotional issues.

In short, while the Target Case Manager focuses on coordinating and managing the services needed for the patient's overall well-being, the therapist focuses on clinical treatment and direct emotional support.
